Alyse Keyser is the founder and director of East Pointe Dance, LLC. For as long as Ms. Keyser can remember, she has envisioned herself directing a dance school where children and adults could form a love of the art with proper dance education just as she did at a young age. When a fantastic opportunity presented itself to her to open a school for dancers, Alyse was able to make her dream become a reality.
Ms. Keyser received her Bachelor of Arts degree from SUNY Purchase in psychology. When Ms. Keyser was not busy teaching, and attending classes, she performed all over Westchester County and NYC as a freelance ballet dancer.
In 2010, Ms. Keyser graduated summa cum laude from New York University/American Ballet Theater with a Master of Arts degree in Dance Education with a concentration in Ballet Pedagogy. While at NYU and ABT she had the opportunity to teach and assist dance classes, and choreograph at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at ABT, all while continuing to perform.
Ms. Keyser has taught classes across the country including Broadway Dance Center in New York City. While she was in college, Alyse taught at NewDance for 8 years as a ballet instructor, company director, and ballet director. She has trained many dancers who have gone on to minor in dance in college, accepted into renowned dance intensive programs, and some have joined regional dance companies or choreographed for pre-professional dance companies. She has directed other dance programs in Westchester County, and has been a panelist for internationally renowned educational dance workshops. She served as an assistant to Raymond Lukens, ABT/NYU Artistic Associate and ABT JKO faculty member and was the rehearsal assistant for Rosanna Seravalli at an ABT Summer Intensive program. She also has worked in the ABT Education Department.
Ms. Keyser is also the Ballet Mistress at the distinguished independent school, Greenwich Country Day in Greenwich, CT.
